Intersession

To intercede is to go or come between two parties.

We make prayers on behalf of other people, just like how we might ask for and need the prayers of others.

Already existing prayers, which typically have existed for some time, are

known by many and can be prayed in unison.

St. Augustine's Watch, O Lord

Chaplet of the Divine Mercy. Commonly prayed at a loved one's death bed,

but it's also a popular way to pray for others, and with others,

on Relevant Radio everday at 3pm. See the Divine Mercy Image.

Recognizing a person's needs and praying for them.

OR, if prompted by the Holy Spirit, ask if they would like prayer. If yes, then lead them in it.

Praise God for this person's life, acknowledge their suffering and concerns,

and ask God to send comfort, healing and help.

Look at this person. With your eyes, let them know they matter.

Reflect on the 5 Finger Prayer

- More than just words.

- Move deeper by talking action. Be the physical answer to someone's prayer.

- The Holy Spirit sends up prompts and little ideas. Act on them.

Someone just had surgery? Organize meals for them.

Someone is lonely? Pay them a visit or write a letter.

Reference the Spiritual and Corporal Works for mercy for more ideas.

While playing, practicing or composing a song,

write the person's name on the page and hold them in your heart as you work.

Does the person you're praying for have a favorite song? Learn it.

Send that song, or a musical prayer note, to that person. You can keep it anonymous,

but let them know they were lifted in prayer.

FORGIVENESS
